Call your Federal Reps to oppose the proposed Budget - The White House unveiled a budget blueprint Friday that would pump more money into defense and homeland security, while taking an ax to programs the Trump administration has already targeted, including education, foreign aid, environment, health and public assistance programs. Among the agencies and programs recommended for cuts are the National Park Service, climate science research, foreign economic and disaster assistance, UN peacekeepers, certain education funding to schools, the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program, the National Institutes of Health, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and rental assistance. - more details at CNN
Call your Reps to demand the return of Kilmar Abrego Garcia - The Supreme Court has already ruled that the administration must bring back this man who had proper legal standing in the US, not convicted of any crimes, sent to an international prison without due process and apparently due to administrative error. Volunteer with the Democratic Help Hub - A precinct-level mutual aid network, currently being built in response to the disappearing social safety net and political fractures in our communities. Neighbor to Neighbor - Connect with neighbors about proposed cuts to Medicaid and SNAP. We send you a list of up to 5 neighbors, a very simple script, and a printout to leave behind. Request an NC voting educator to speak at your school, work, church, or event - A You Can Vote representative may be able to attend your nonpartisan event to educate and register NC voters in 2025.
